Division 4 vs St JosephsWe played St Josephs on their home patch in our first league game of 2013. The conditions were surprisingly very good considering some of the recent weather and this was matched by an entertaining game with both sides giving their all. With a strong starting 15 we opened the game with scores from Rory Delaney, Robbie Buckley and Stephen Lawless along with the first of Danny Keegans three goals on the day. Things were going well until the opposition replied with a goal of their own and several unanswered points but we held on to lead by a point at half time. We gained almost complete control in the second half with two more goals from Danny Keegan and points from Mark Kenny and Kevin Connaughton. This allowed the management to use all 5 subs as we ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 3-11 to 1-09. Good performances particularly from David Cassells, Jack Byrne and Rory Delaney. Team: Eoin Conlon, David Cassells, Liam Doogan, Kevin Cooper, Stephen Lawless (0-01), Jack Byrne, Mark Kenny (0-01), Barry Cassells, Robbie Buckley (0-01), David O'Brien (0-02), Daniel Sammon (0-02), Sean Kenny, Kevin Connaughton (0-01), Danny Keegan (3-01), Rory Delaney (0-02)

Division 4 vs St Pauls - We made it two wins from two with a victory away to St Pauls on Saturday last. It was very encouraging that over 20 players made the trip and were rewarded with the win. Stephen Lawless and Daniel Sammon unfortuantley picked up injuries and we hope they wont be out of action for too long. The final score read Tubberclair 3-15 St Pauls 1-04. Team: Kevin Fagan, David Cassells, Liam Doogan (Capt.), Kevin Cooper, Stephen Lawless, Aonghus Hanna, Padraig Fagan, Barry Cassells, Michael Hopkins (0-02), Mark Kenny (0-01), Daniel Sammon (1-02), Robbie Buckley, Kevin Connaughton, Danny Keegan (2-03), Ciaran Clehane. Subs: Paul O'Brien (0-03), David O'Brien (0-03), Adam O'Connor, Robbie Ashe (0-01), Sean Kenny, Robbie Curley

Division 4 vs The Downs - We fielded an extremely youthful side against The Downs on Saturday last and were extremely unlucky not to take the two points at the final whistle. It's our first defeat in this division all year but the experience gained by the younger lads against a much more experienced opposition will no doubt stand to our lads in the future. Final Score read Tubberclair 3-05 The Downs 2-10 Team: Kevin Fagan, Rory Walsh, Kevin Cooper, Mark McArdle, Oisin Donoghue, Jack Byrne, Padraig Fagan, Barry Cassells, Aidan Connaughton, Robert Curley, Daniel Sammon (1-01), Brian Murphy, Nicky Kelly (0-01), David Fagan (2-03), Paul O'Brien

Division 4 vs Ballymore - We started this game very brightly with Nicky Kelly, Daniel Sammon and Danny Keegan all getting on the scoresheet before Jack Byrne added a long range score to give us a six point lead at half time. The second half was owned by Ballymore as they got on top all over the pitch and clawed their way back with goals of their own although Nicky Kelly kept us in touch with his free taking. At the end though we were defeated on a scoreline of 2-13 to 2-11. Team: Kevin Fagan, Kevin Cooper, Liam Doogan, Rory Walsh, Eamon Quigley, Jack Byrne (0-01), Stephen Lawless, Aaron Curley, Barry Cassells, Daniel Sammon (1-01), David Fagan (0-02), David O'Brien (0-02), Kevin Connaughton, Danny Keegan (1-01), Nicky Kelly (0-04)

Division 4 vs Castledaly - In a carbon copy of the previous game, we lead by six points at half time before completly fading out of the game for the second half. We conceded two soft goals and in the end we were defeated by 2-07 to 2-06, this was a tough defeat to take as we played some good football in the first half with some good scores taken. Team: Kevin Connaughton, Kevin Cooper, Liam Doogan, Rory Walsh, Padraig Fagan, Eamon Quigley, Sean Kenny, Barry Cassells, Aaron Curley, Dobsy O'Brien (0-01), Aidan Connaughton (1-00), Daniel Sammon (0-04), Robert Curley (0-01), Danny Keegan (1-00), Brian Cooper

Junior Championship vs Killucan - we kicked off our junior campaign on Friday night at home to Killucan, this was a great opportunity for players to get championship action who were on the periphery of the Intermediate team. To be fair we were in complete control from start to finish, however, there were strong performances all round with Dobsy O'Brien kicking six points while Barry Cassells and Michael Hopkins dominated the midfield, up front Danny Keegan added the goal to our tally before kicking a point from play. Rory Delaney who was introduced at half time kicked three points from play. There are now 8 more games to go throughout the year. We ran out winners on a scoreline of 1-16 to 0-06 Team: Declan Kelly Rory Walsh David Cassells Kevin Cooper Oisin Donoghue Enda Magee Steven Lawless Barry Cassells Michael Hopkins David O'Brien Brian Cooper Rob Ashe Sean Garvey Danny Keegan Keith McKiernan. Subs Used: Rory Delaney Mark McArdle Kevin Connaughton Sean Kenny Aonghus Hanna.

Junior Championship vs Coralstown/Kinnegad - we travelled to Kinnegad last Friday for our second game of the championship following a win over Killucan, played in wet conditions the opening half was disappointing as we conceded three very soft goals from our point of view. Although we fought back and dominated the match the goals were inevetibly the losing of the game for us as it left the deficit to wide to bring back. Robert Ashe kicked five of our points from play while Aidan Connaughton and centre back Steven Lawless also added points. We did almost level with the last action of the game but a goal line scramble was eventually cleared away. In the end we were defeated by 3-06 to 1-09. Team: D Kelly, E Dooley, R Walsh, K McKiernan, O Donoghue, S Lawless (0-01), P Fagan, M Hopkins, B Cassells, D O'Brien (0-02), A Connaughton (0-01), B Cooper, R Ashe (0-05), D Keegan (1-00), S Garvey. Subs Used: R Delaney, R Curley, K Connaughton
